Bretton Dabous, Counselling Intern, (Masters of Social Work Candidate)
Meet Bretton!
I come to Rebirth as part of my MSW field placement with Wilfrid Laurier University and bring more than twelve years of experience supporting individuals and families through mental health, addiction, and emotional challenges. With a BA from the University of Western Ontario and a CYW Diploma from Humber College, my experience has spanned youth mental health, education, and community housing.
I am a parent and an artist, and these elements will naturally find their way into my practice. I lean on creativity when language feels limited and am committed to remaining curious in my personal and professional roles. I have a passion for exploring the outdoors and spent a number of years as a whitewater canoe guide. Being on the river taught me a lot about trust, patience, and how healing it can be to connect with the natural world around us. Those lessons still influence my work and I aim to show up in a steady, collaborative way.
I am committed to understanding people in the full context of their histories, identities, and environments. I intend to offer a space that feels grounded, respectful, and genuinely interested in who you are and what you’re carrying.
If you’re new to therapy or simply want to see if it’s the right fit, you’re invited to book a complimentary 15-minute virtual meet and greet. This is a relaxed, no-pressure opportunity to ask questions, learn more about Bretton’s approach, and get a feel for working together before committing to a full appointment.
