Brittany McClay, MSW, RSW
As a Registered Social Worker, I aim to provide a non-judgmental, safe and supportive therapeutic environment where you can feel seen, heard and understood. I hope to support you in the process of identifying feelings, coping with distress and regulating emotions so that you can build the life you want.
I provide support to individuals who have experienced emotional distress, various mental health difficulties, substance misuse or trauma. It is a privilege to witness the strength and resiliency demonstrated by the children, youth and families that I have the opportunity to work with.
I strive to utilize an evidence-based and anti-oppressive approach throughout the therapeutic process. This means using techniques that are supported by research; combined with your unique needs throughout the acceptance and change process.
I have experience working in a variety of settings within the community and currently work in an inpatient hospital setting. I practice from a client centred and integrative approach dependent on the individuals difficulties and our treatment goals. I have completed trainings in CBT, TF-CBT, DBT and EMDR
