Treatment is Individualized and Family-Centered
Treatment for children with neurological or developmental conditions is aimed at maximizing potential and facilitating development, participation and independence. This may be aimed at reaching specific milestones such as rolling, crawling and walking. Treatment is individualized; depending on the unique needs of each child and Family, and may vary from hands-on treatment to advice, education, exercise prescription and consultation. Management is family-centered, with the goal of supporting and empowering both the child and their families at home, school and in the community, and not just in the treatment room. Assessment and treatment with younger children is play-based in order to engage and motivate children and achieve results.

Krista Hicks, Paedatric Physiotherapist
I am very excited to be part of the Rebirth team and to offer the families in London the option of Paediatric Physiotherapy! I received my Master of Science in Physiotherapy from McMaster University and have been a member of the College of Physiotherapists of Ontario since 2003. I have worked in Paediatrics throughout my whole career and have loved every minute of it. I love engaging with the children in a playful, holistic way to help them accomplish their developmental milestones and become successful independent individuals in their environment. Meeting and supporting the child’s family is also a huge part of this job and I feel honoured, humbled and grateful to be entrusted with this responsibility. I am a mother of three amazing souls and know how important it is to for the whole family to be supported through the ever-changing development of children. I truly believe it takes a village to raise children and I feel Rebirth’s community is the village we are all looking for!
I have had the privilege of working as a Paediatric Physiotherapist in Canada, Scotland and Dubai. The diversity of these health care systems has allowed me to acquire many new skills and approaches to looking at your child’s health and wellbeing. Within the 7 years of working in Dubai, I became a transdisciplinary therapist, meaning that when I work with a child I am incorporating their PT, OT, SLP, social and educational developmental goals into a fun playful session. My goal is to work with your whole team to support you and your child through their developmental growth in all aspects of their life.
